The Rhythm Tree:

Time Signatures:

A time signature tells you how to count music. It is written after the clef and key signature. It is written at the beginning of the staff. Time signatures include two numbers which are written like a fraction. The top number tells you how many beats are in a bar. The bottom number tells you what kind of note one beat is.
